About the Author - An Australian Outback Adventure

Jim Sayles, author and environmental consultantThe author graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Animal Science and a minor in journalism. The author's first publication appeared in "Walkabout", an Australian Geographic magazine, in 1978. That was closely followed by a publication in "Animal Kingdom", the New York Zoological Society's journal, depicting his two year IUCN/WWF grant field research into the status of the Tasmanian Tiger.

The author's interest in outdoor pursuits, including backpacking, horse packing, canoeing and kayaking wild rivers, fishing, hunting, and survival skills led to magazine articles in "Petersen's", "Texas Outdoors", "The Varmit Hunter", "Big Game Adventures", "Texas Trophy Hunters", "Dixie Gun Works Black Powder Annual", and numerous other outdoor interest magazines.

"The Bull Catchers" is his first full length book project. His second book, "Ashles From A Glorious Campfire" is expected to be complete in 2011.

The author lives in the Texas hill country where he works as an environmental consultant, assisting various industrial and municipal clients comply with federal and state environmental regulations.
